- The letter at the beginning of a sentence is capitalized. For example:
- Míngtian nǐ qù ma? (Are you going tomorrow?) 明天你去吗？
- The first letter of a proper noun is capitalized. For example:
- Běijīng Dàxué (Peking University); 北京大学？
- Tài Shān (Mount Tai); 泰山
- Huáng Hé (Yellow River) 黄河
